Why wont cooking oil come out in the wash??

spilled cooking oil on my trachsuit bottoms, there are cotton/wool i think.. i thought nothin of it and put them in the wash.. but it made no difference wat so ever :( is there some special way of gettin it out? fankooWhy wont cooking oil come out in the wash??
What i do is usally put washing upliquid on the oil stain and rub it in, then leave it for a while, then put the item of clothing into the washing machine, it fades it and will come out after doing this a couple of times. Why wont cooking oil come out in the wash??
Try gently rubbing in some neat detergent and leaving for a while then wash again.
I buy good old fashioned washing soda from Wilkinsons/Tesco/Morrisons. It is 55p for 1kg bag. Put a cup of this in any wash and oil, sweat, blood, grease, skid marks all disappear. ( The skid marks are in a friends washing that I do, his gussets look like the starting grid of Le Mans!).

T-towels come up a treat as well.
Talc or salt immediately to absorb most of it. Soak in hot solution of soda crystals - available from the supermarket and used to unclog greasy drains.
buy a bottle of lystol and put it just on the spots and wash
because it is hard for oil and water to mix - have you tried Dirt Devils ?

Sorry meant ';Stain Devils'; - bit early for me lol

STAIN DEVIL No.3 removes: OIL, GRASS, GREASE, MAKE-UP and many more
Just use some washing up liquid direction onto the oil spill, then wash the garment in the washing machine in the usual way.
the Spanish say that if you spill or splatter oil on your clothes you should sprinkle it immediately with salt, this will absorb the oil, another method is talcum powder

try them
It's too late after it goes through the dryer.

Oil stains should be blotted (while still wet) to remove most of it and soaked in COLD water.

Then use a detergent to break up the oil and a 2-part stain remover like spray and wash.

Wash in cold water and cold rinse. If it doesn't come out, DON'T just throw it in the dryer! Try again!
